Does anyone out there actually USE magnetic lasso in Photoshop?  Every once in a blue moon (and didn't we just have a blue moon, come to think of it?) I have a go at using it.  Basically, it reminds me of walking my dog in the woods (ie, off leash).

Me: Hey! You! You're supposed to be following me!
Her: I was following you, but this is more interesting, don't you think?  Wouldn't you rather come over here?
Me: No.  No, I would not.  Now come here.
Her: Ok, fine, I'm coming.
Me, watching her move 2 steps in my direction, then veer off again: Hey! I said come HERE!
Her: Ok, fine... here?
Me: No, that is not here, that's there.  Come here!
Her: Here?
Me, pointing to side: No, here.
Her: Here?
Me, rolling eyes: No, HERE!
Her: Ohhhh, here!
Me: Yes! to self: finally!
Two minutes later....
Me: What are you doing over there?
Her: You said to come here!
Me: That was when I was there, but I kept moving, and now I'm here which is where you should be!
Her, looking confused for a few seconds before getting distracted by an unidentified sound: Wait, what--....  ooo, what was that?
Me: Arrrrrrrggghhhh!!!

At this point, I either reach for the leash, or switch to using the pen tool, as appropriate.
